About the role
We are looking for a proactive, pragmatic, and knowledgeable sole Legal Counsel to join Genflow! You will have the opportunity to lead the Legal agenda at Genflow, establishing close relationships with the management team and partnering cross functionally. You will also have a creative, hands-on approach and there is an opportunity to cover a large variety of legal projects. The ideal candidate will have a high-level understanding in relation to commercial matters and risks associated within a growing tech start-up business.
What you will do
Draft and review all commercial agreements, such as; client partnership agreements (mobile app, products, equity, talent management agreements, and marketing services provided to clients), supplier and commercial agreements).
Draft exceptional standard NDAs confidentiality agreements and, disclaimers.
Draft and manage all employee and freelancer agreements.
Partner with the marketing team and draft required terms and conditions for prizes and competitions.
Work closely within the Leadership team to understand how the business operates, the legal agreements required, as well as minimising any business risks.
Negotiate contracts for Genflow when dealing with new clients, phone calls with clients lawyers.
Advise the company on risks and reduce legal risk factors relating to the business (such as; stock, marketing, breaches, term and termination, non-compete provisions, liability, client adhering to obligations, exclusivity, IP)
Advise on any client, internal disputes and settlements.
Contract management of all executed agreements and work closely with the business on renewals and potential terminations.
Liaise with clients’ lawyers on behalf of Genflow and provide reporting on occasion.
Establish relationships with external counsel and US lawyers.
Work collaboratively with the VP of People to ensure employee relation matters are managed in a compliant and fair manner.
We would like to meet someone who
Has prior experience drafting and reviewing a range of commercial agreements.
Has trained at a reputable law firm, as well as in-house experience as Legal Counsel.
Has prior experience managing commercial legal matters.
Has a passion for ecommerce and has practiced across online business and tech.
Is an analytical problem solver and seeks opportunity to take initiative implementing effective and pragmatic solutions in a legally compliant manner.
Seeks every opportunity to ensure excellent record-keeping and his highly organised.
Has admirable communication skills, both written and verbal.
Enjoys building relationships cross functionally, reslishes providing advice.
Appreciates working autonomously, displays the desire to problem solve and present solutions.
Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.
Thrives is adopting a proactive in approach to work.
The important technical skills
Qualified solicitor (England and Wales).
3-7 post qualification experience.
GDPR/data protection experience desired although not essential
