We are looking for a Senior backend Ruby Developer to join our team in Riyadh or Dubai who is a well-grounded Rubyist to collaborate with the Product Team in order to understand product requirements and provide technical expertise for all products as required, and to assist in analyzing, designing, testing, and structuring the required solutions to deliver a high-quality working software based on the business needs and standards. If you’re a Ruby enthusiastic developer interested in both getting your hands dirty with writing code from scratch and reviewing other people’s work, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you will contribute in all phases of the software development life cycle, from design to deployment.
Responsibilities:Be our everyday Ruby, Ruby on Rails SpecialistKeep abreast of latest software development methodologies in order to be able to provide best-in-class software solutionsAnalyze product requirements in order to understand engineering requirements, evaluate technical feasibility, estimate efforts and provide the required solutions in collaboration with product teamAssist in building development components and managing the programming of the different solution components in order to transform the requirements into actual working software accuratelyDocument all coding steps in order to ensure comprehensibility and to facilitate future modifications and maintenanceInvestigate and resolve issues and bugs through patches and other meansCollaborate with other colleagues in order to assist each other in code reviews and deliver code review reports accordinglyPerform functional and module testing in order to ensure functionality of delivered solutionsMonitor evaluate and report on product development and recommend improvements where necessaryAssist in user trials and acceptance testing
RequirementsExperience as a Senior Ruby Developer
Hands-on experience writing command-line apps using Ruby librariesExpertise in RailsSoftware Engineering Best PracticesIn-depth understanding of object-oriented programmingKnowledge in Software Architecture and Design Patterns & Agile Software Development MethodologiesGood understanding and independent application of cloud environment, CI/CD, testing and validationIndependently applies design patterns and best practices in reliability management (resiliency, autoscaling, monitoring, alertingStrong knowledge in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL). Experience in PostgreSQL is preferredExperience in CI/CD implementationFamiliar with the following; Unix environment(s), Docker & Kubernetes, Java & Golang
