Description : Staffordshire’s Latest Gastro Pub is now looking for Part Time Waiting on Staff to join our team for the medium to long term, Please do not apply for this position if you are only seeking a job for only a few short weeks.Background InformationYe Olde Rock Inn has existed as a pub for over 200 years and has been owned by the same family since 1985, In March 2019 after a period of tenancy the business returned to the family fold. In August 2021 we reopened after a 2 and a half year refurbishment was completed, transforming the whole interior look of the pub and giving the outside a tasteful refresh without changing the period look.What type of dishes do we serve?We like to class ourselves as a Destination pub bridging the gap between a pub atmosphere and restaurant style food. All our starters and main dishes are made fresh to order. We decided from day one that this is the road we needed to go down to ensure people have a high quality experience. While this means people wait slightly longer the quality of the food is vastly increased.What will be involved in this job?As a member of waiting on staff you will be tasked with meeting and greeting customers upon entry with professionalism and a smile and then showing them a table should they wish to have food. Table service is offered as standard here so you will be tasked to take drink and food orders from the customers table as well as take out meals from the kitchen and bring empties back. You will also be responsible for the cleaning and re-setting of and around each table after it has be vacated.What are we looking for?Someone that is professional with a caring attitude, a “no time to stand and gossip there is plenty to do” mentality will get you a long way here. Someone that strives for perfection and can spot when something needs doing without being constantly told. You will need to learn the menu and drinks options so they become second nature for when a customer asks you a question you will know. Keeping tables and surrounding areas clean through service is a perennial problem that many seem to miss as part of the job, here it is a strict duty we expect waiting on staff to follow. Being available evenings and most weekends is a must for this job given the nature of hospitality.What are Ye Olde Rock Inn’s opening times?We open for food 12pm to 8:45pm Tuesday to Saturday & 12pm to 8pm on Sunday. The pub is shut on Monday’s to give everyone that works 6 days (including the owners) a much needed day off. Please note we do open on Bank Holiday Mondays and everyone is expected to be available to work on such days. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE CURRENTLY & TEMPORARILY CLOSED ON TUESDAYSHow is the working ethos different at Ye Olde Rock Inn?Being family owned and run we like to develop a friendly relationship with everyone and encourage all members of staff to get along and so far this has been the case. Everyone is on a first name basis and able to speak their mind. Think of it as a relaxed working environment but with high standards and expectations to match.Getting to and from workYou are expected to make your own travel arrangements to and from work and should be able to reliably commute. Ye Olde Rock Inn is situated only 5 minutes by car from the town of Leek, Staffordshire.
