Position Summary:

We are seeking a customer service oriented HR Coordinator to join UA HR’s Customer Service Team. This position supports the UA System Office by providing a wide variety of HR services to employees at every level of the organization. Duties:

Recruiting Assist with the creation, development, and submission of position descriptions for newly established positions and for revisions to existing positions in preparation for UA HR review and approval. Manage recruitment processes by working closely with supervisors, hiring managers, and search committees, ensuring legal compliance with UA Policies and Regulations and state and federal laws. Serve as the point of contact for applicant status updates and for general questions about the job posting.

Ensure timely completion of human resources onboarding process including background check initiation, new hire paperwork completion, appointment letters and job forms for all employee classes. HR personnel actions Accurately prepare, submit correct documentation, validate accuracy and follow up on problems for all job changes including new hires, rehires, salary changes, reclassifications, and terminations. Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements. Responsible for assuring all required paperwork is submitted correctly and for reviewing the employee records in the HRIS for accuracy once data entry is complete.

Timesheets Monitor bi-weekly timesheet submission, assist employees and supervisors with submissions and approvals and correctly submit other payroll items such as taxable benefits, lump sum payments, and bonuses. Maintain timesheet approvers and supervisors in HRIS. Provide time entry and time approval instructions to employees and approvers and assist employees with late and revised timesheets. Administrative Support: Provide on-site office and administrative support to UA HR staff members.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Requires comprehensive understanding of HR (payroll, personnel, benefits, recruitment, budget) including HR processes, HR theory, and HR compliance
Knowledge of UA policies, regulations and practices
Ability to interpret applicable state and federal employment law
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; has the ability to plan, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
Ability to establish and maintain files and recordkeeping systems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be skilled at identifying and proactively addressing problems or potential risks
Must have organizational and follow-up skills
Exercise high-level attention to detail to effectively complete tasks
Must be able to analyze problems and develop strategies for resolution
Must be able to prioritize workload independently and meet deadlines under stressful situations
Must be flexible and able to work in an environment of change
Must be able to foster a collaborative team environment and build relationships
Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and information to a diverse audience.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

Two years of technical human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:

One year of college coursework in HR, business, communication, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

SALARY INFORMATION:

This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
